Unlike most other canine breeds, Yorkshires have no coat or undercoat, but real hair.
Their hair grows like ours, about 1 cm per month and needs to be cut from time to time.
This is also the reason why they must be protected from the cold ! Because without coat nor undercoat, nothing protects them naturally. Moreover, as true as we cover up as soon as the air is a little cool, we absolutely must do the same with our charming Yorks as soon as the thermometer drops below 12 degrees.
Invest in a nice little sweater for the fall and even a down jacket for the winter will save you a visit to the veterinarian : because our pretty little tawny heads can catch cold, cough, have a sore throat (yes), just like us !.
I experienced it, when I believed these were superfluous clothes for Fripouille and Coquine, thinking that they were shaking during their first winter, for fear of their environment…
Since I realized they were cold, it has become a pleasure to shop for their wardrobe and especially to see them looking so cute in their different outfits.
What about a special Yorks fashion show ?...
