Petfood for Yorkies

Most veterinarians recommend feeding our dogs with kibbles.

Pet food manufacturers would thus be the best experts in terms of

balance canine food.

Having worked for many years in the food industry, I had legitimate doubts :

1/ First of all, it seems obvious that a supply coming exclusively from industry,

having undergone multitude transformations, attacks,

loaded with additives and preservatives cannot offer

the same nutrients as fresh food,

prepared at home.

2/ Have a look at the ingredient list of kibbles and you will discover that their interest doesn’t take after the nobility of ingredients (it is all about by-products or very low level of real meat for example).

3/ Isn't it strange to have to make a smooth transition between two brands when changing kibble?. Otherwise, digestive disorders of our companions call us to order.

What on earth can be inside these kibbles,

to cause such digestive disorders ?

(while changes within

fresh food is not disturbing

- pathology aside -) ...

4/ As a result, we are told that it is not necessary to vary the diet of our companions !

But then tell me why at the same time, we are often encouraged to give our dogs food supplements.

5/ Moreover, only few of us can claim to feed themselves in a perfectly balanced way. But it will always be better to feed with unprocessed fresh products, even if it means making a few mistakes in the composition of our meals.

Well I think it's the same for our beautiful tawny heads.

In conclusion, the professionals in the field doubt above all our ability to self-discipline ourselves to provide daily fresh balanced meals to our companions.

As there is no question of giving leftovers from our table (many of our foods are harmful or even dangerous for dogs),

it may seem restrictive to have to prepare their own meals for our Yorkies. But the satisfaction that you get out of it erases

all the pain : A regained great appetite, tenfold energy, stronger health and a much nicer dress.

My two little Yorkies have changed into that better way, since they've been fed with homemade food !

If you want to try the experiment, follow the recipes that I post on social networks (here are two examples below), very simple to prepare, developed from my own research on the subject and crossed with the recommendations

of veterinarians and canine nutritionists.

A single good preparation, put in the fridge can be used for almost 4 days !.

If your little York is currently fed with kibbles, you will of course have to make a transition over a week, with the gradual intake of his new healthy food, so that he can be weaned gently from his kibbles...

Then it will finally be possible to vary the recipes (in order to vary the nutrient intake).

On the other hand, the ideal is to stay in a single category of animal protein :

If you opt for fish, all will be allowed (it will only be a matter of taste).

If you opt for poultry, everything will be allowed (chicken, turkey, thighs or wings), the same for meat.

But without mixing too much within these three main categories. Otherwise, your York could have some digestive disorders (Fripouille was in no way bothered by the changes in protein sources, but his companion Coquine, while enjoying her meals, suffered from collateral disorders).

So vary their pleasures, to offer them better health !

All of the above is only valid in general terms; each little York has its specificities and this beautiful breed is prone to food intolerances

or even allergies; so if your Yorkie has marked digestive problems, contact a veterinarian to identify his intolerances.

I can also, if you wish, share with you my own experience in this area, with Coquine who was successfully treated within less than 48 hours thanks to a change in diet (and of course the consultation of a specialized veterinarian).

Let's keep in touch!
